ZACK TAYLORED ANNOUNCES THREE-TRACK CONCEPT EP ‘PASSIVE REBELLION’

UK artist Zack Taylored releases multi-genre EP Passive Rebellion on November 5th via VFEX MEDIA — a bold reimagining of the Guy Fawkes story transformed into a modern liberty anthem.

What started as a seasonal piece grew rapidly as historical research unfolded. The project traces profound themes stretching from historical treachery to modern liberty, analyzing the friction between fighting for a cause versus upholding basic morality.

"There is a lesson in the original story," says Zack Taylored. "It's important to fight with emotional passion, but if rage takes over, it can work against you. Over time, Guy Fawkes has been romanticised from villain to hero. I wanted to portray that evolution, but push the power of a passive approach."

Built around the central hook "Not by force / But by just cause / Still fighting for liberty / United as one," the EP champions passive resistance and intellectual unity over physical force.

One Song, Three Sonic Worlds

To reflect the multi-faceted nature of the message, the Passive Rebellion EP is delivered across a unique three-track variable format, allowing listeners to experience the anthem through three distinct genres:

· Passive Rebellion (Original): The definitive, atmospheric version highlighting tense cinematic weight and thematic depth.

· Passive Rebellion (Pop Edition): A polished, radio-ready version focusing on melodic hooks and electronic accessibility.

· Passive Rebellion (Pop Rock Edition): An energetic, driving adaptation powered by gritty instrumentation and anthemic rock dynamics.

Expanding the Universe: The Mask of Liberty

The release introduces original creative IP: The Mask of Liberty. Moving away from the traditional Guy Fawkes imagery, this new icon is a weathered figurehead built from Statue copper, featuring a torch set in the forehead, olive branches for peace, and a red tattered sail acting as a liberty cap. The world is further expanded through an 18th-century pirate lens, drawing on the strict codes of diplomacy, democracy, and equality aboard a 1700s ship to weave disjointed historical struggles into one seamless narrative.

Passive Rebellion is out November 5th across all major streaming platforms.

TICK TACK TOE RELEASE

The initial tick tack toe brief was to create a 3 track Halloween seasonal EP

I was really excited about this because I love Halloween, I love a good horror movie, With all the thrills and chills, it's just my scene

the research for this project, was great, it gave me the excuse to watch A LOT of horror movies and Scare myself silly .

What I didn't realise until I got going was, there became multiple dynamics that I wanted to incorporate into this initial track, resulting in me not having the time to produce 3 independent songs, I didn't realise how complicated it was.

A lot of the influences that i wanted to input, came from iconic early 80s timeless movies like john carpenters Halloween series, ghostbusters and the vibe from Michael Jackson's thriller.

So I needed to add an 80s essence into the track, yet I wanted to modernise it, I also wanted to input the essence of Halloween

but also not make it too cliché

Whilst keeping the creepy variable tone and feel on point. I also had to put my Zack Tailored signature into it whilst attempting to keep it balanced -dark themed but uplifted.

So we ended up incorporating the chase horror elements and the storyboard slightly touches on the scrimpy Jack story that kept the theme in place. I ended up with a 2 track variable

keeping the initial cinematic version and adding a pop rock party version

that I feel compliment each other depending on the listeners mood. Im happy to leave this where it is but it definitely does open options for next Halloween there's just so many elements to play with this seasonal genre.

Happy Halloween
